Heading off to camp and having fun at school on PhotoPeach

Camp begins!

This week has been very busy doing the final preparations for camp. After several late changes to numbers, it was decided that one teacher would stay back with the students who didn't travel. They are all in Room 18 and today we had a great day together!

It sounds like the travellers have had a fabulous day too. They arrived safely; did some team building activities and their first rotation; saw a pod of dolphins; made sandcastles; had dinner and were going to watch a movie tonight.

Camp Gear List

Gear List and Other forms    can be found at this link.

Please gather these things during the holidays. Remember we leave on the Wednesday straight after the holidays, so you need to be organised! Warm clothes are a must. Wool, polar fleece and polyprop clothing is great.

Camp information

Hi all,

You will find the updated camp newsletter on the newsletter page.

Your children should have brought this notice home to remind you that another $50 per child is due this Friday (the end of week 6). It is really important that this fee is paid, so that we can meet our obligations and feel confident that everyone who has booked, still intends to go.

If you've lost the medical form, you can also find it at this link  Camp medical form.  Please print it out and send it to school with your child.

The website for our venue is here Sir Peter Blake Marine Education Centre.  Take a look. It looks fabulous!

Thanks so much for your support!

The Amazing Race

This Friday we plan to go to Hamilton Lake for our Amazing Race activities. We need consent forms, health forms and $5.00 from every student. Please, please get on to this quickly or we will have to leave many students behind with one of our teachers.  This would be such a shame as it is great fun and excellent for team building!

Thanks to everyone who returned the camp forms and deposits by the due date of 17 April. We really appreciate the effort you made to meet the deadlines as this really helps our planning.

All $50.00 deposits must be in by Friday of Week 6 of this term. Students who have not paid by then will not be included in the final numbers. The full $200 fee will be due before the end of term, as we have many costs to cover before we even leave the school.

Thanks for supporting with this!

Urgent!

Please get those newsletters back and the deposit paid or payments set up by this Thursday! We need to confirm numbers. The students have had plenty of time and plenty of reminders.

First Camp Newsletter

Please check out the newsletter page to read the camp newsletter. We need the bottom of the form signed and returned asap please. Then we will know who plans to go, who is available as an adult helper and who can bring vehicles.

The $50 deposit is due in two weeks time at the end of this term. This will confirm your child's place on camp.

Many thanks for returning these promptly.

URGENT! Science Road Show payment

On their stationery lists, all students were asked for $7 to pay for the Science Road Show coming to Maeroa this term. This is a hands on experience which the students will love, but very few have paid. Please, please, please send the money with your child asap. This is too good to miss.

Thanks so much to those of you who have paid. Your child will really enjoy it and learn a lot!

Tools of the trade

Goal setting conferences will be held in early March. All caregivers are invited to make an appointment to come in and set a goal with their child. The appointment slip is in the newsletter.

These are student-led conferences. Teachers will be available for a brief chat, but for any lengthy discussion, you will need to make an appointment for some other time.

Some students still need stationery, PE uniform, correct shoes and togs. People working in jobs need to be ready to work and we are trying to teach this to our students.

A builder cannot constantly be borrowing tools from another builder and many people must wear correct uniforms including certain types of footwear to their jobs. Please help us to train your child for the future, by providing what they need for their school day. Name all clothing and we will do our best to keep it safe in locked classrooms, when it's not being used.

Thanks for your support with this!

Parent/Whanau Picnic Dinner Evening

Remember that tomorrow, 11th February 5:30 – 7:00pm, we will be holding an informal meet the team evening. This will be held at the school pool where you will have the opportunity to ask questions and meet your child’s teacher and the rest of the team, in a relaxed, informal situation. Please bring your family, togs for those who would like a swim, and a picnic dinner for your family to share. This is an excellent occasion to share in your child’s learning and find out about the opportunities available, particularly in this first term.

Please come along, we would love to meet you!
